A sticky question of age

An apparent shift in chartering policy by key Chinese oil companies has ‘shrunk the pool of workable tankers’ and ‘contributed to a tightening in VLCC rates in recent weeks’, we are told. Could this influence the earnings potential and – by extension – the retirement age of the world’s older tankers fleet?
